The Great Australasian Beer SpecTAPular (GABS) is Australia s premier beer and food festival and celebrates the diversity of craft beer and the creativity of the breweries with the best craft breweries from Australia and around the world brewing Festival Beers specifically for the event. The unique festival was started in 2012 by Steve Jeffares and Guy Greenstone, owners of the multi-award winning Local Taphouse beer bars. It showcases more than 300 beers (including 120 Festival Beers ), brewery stands, fantastic local food, beer and education classes, games and live entertainment. Held in Melbourne (as part of Good Beer Week) and Sydney each May, GABS has been named one of the 20 best beer festivals in the world by the prestigious Beer Connoisseur magazine.
